I read that! It was awesome. But the Amazons are still underdressed. :-)

At first I shrugged off the costume but then I read this tweetstorm by a costume designer and she explains so much!

Yes, the part with the indigenous actor was excellent. He's from Alberta, I find out.
I think she didn't answer because she is still trying to figure everything out and that was just one more odd thing. His people killed your people but you are working together?? Knowing that the comic got started in the early 1940's I assumed that she fought the Nazis in the early storylines so didn't think it strange that she was in Europe during a war. And of course the real bad guy was British! That was a nice twist I hadn't seen coming.
Eugene Brave Rock has been travelling the world, chasing his dream of making it big in Hollywood. Now, with a role in the movie Wonder Woman, the 39-year-old actor has become a hometown hero for the Blood Tribe in southern Alberta.

Yeah the outfit is one thing but like Lioness I kinda thought well traditon and all that. Yet that has never made sense to me.

But what mostly annoyed me was how easily overpowered the villians were. So there ´s the god that killed other gods and well she fights him once and poof no more? Also for evil woman scientist ( I liked that it was a woman actually) she simply sits there at the end and does nothing.

What also got an eyeroll out of me was of course it was evil germans again ( As a german one has resigned oneself to always be one of the bads in US Films. The others are russians or nowadays evil arabs. ) Anyway being totally unspoiled I immediatly thought it was a Nazi Story, which it wasnt but since it was situated earlier I rolled my eyes cause the britsh werent particular nice at that time either. Well to my surprise the movie had one of his compardes saying that "His people killed my poeple" but that was it. It didnt even got a comment out of Diana if I remember right. but well ok. Used to that.

Oh and I´m not a fan of slomo action but thats my personal taste I guess.

Anyway I loved the stuff on the Isle though. And I ´m happy its successful since I want more woman hero movies damn it.

I just saw it this afternoon.; It was $5.00 Tuesdays and at first there were only about 6 of us and then it slowly filled up with people who talked during the movie! I enjoyed it and bits really got to me - like the cross across No Man's Land but I could not get past her outfit.
I know, I know. This is traditional. But what warrior would have so much bare skin and hair flying about that could be caught or grabbed? I had read some information about the woman who played Artemis - Ann Wolfe who is, or was, a professional boxer, so I made a point of looking for her.

Saw it the first Friday, then the second Friday. Then today went and laughed at the box office stats for The Mummy.

I saw it on Sunday and it was a packed house. Loved it. Didn't think scenes like the walk across No Man's Land would have affected me the way they did, but there you go. It did.
